Discontinued, but still repairable
Legacy Products
Here at Soundbyte Solutions we are very proud of the design and build quality of out products. They are all manufactured with longevity in mind. We have products in regular use which are over 25 years old, and we are still able to service and repair them.
We do however have to retire products from time to time, and wherever possible, replace them with a new version.
The products shown on this page are no longer available for sale. We will however continue to offer a repair service for as long as possible.
Parrot (1996 – 2024)

The original Parrot system with a single handset per test has had a production run spanning almost 30 years. Sales declined significantly after the release of the Parrotplus, but the Parrot remained a firm favourite amongst users.
Sadly, we can no longer keep this device in production but will be able to maintain them for many years.
If you need to return a Parrot to us for repair or calibration, please visit our servicing section for full details on how to do this.
Documentation for existing users can be found in the section below.
Phoenix (2003 – 2024)

The Phoenix uses the Automated Toy Test algorithm developed by the Institute of Hearing Research in collaboration with the Children’s Hearing Assessment Centre (CHAC) in Nottingham.
It was used extensively in clinical settings. Being quite heavy and mains powered, it was not really suitable for use in outreach centres or classrooms.
Production was discontinued in 2024, but we maintain an extensive stock of spare parts which should keep these devices running for many years.
If you need to return a Parrot to us for repair or calibration, please visit our servicing section for full details on how to do this.
